Mark Conlin is a marine wildlife photographer. He holds a degree in marine biology from UC Santa Barbara. Since 1987, Mark has worked as part of today's premier underwater wildlife filmmaking team, Howard Hall Productions. He has worked on over 20 underwater films, including three IMAX productions. Mark's work over the past 14 years with HHP has helped him develop an exciting and extensive still photography collection. Mark's still photographs have appeared in Associated Press, Audubon, BBC Wildlife, Canadian Wildlife, Discover, Esquire, National & International Wildlife, Natural History, National Geographic World & Books, Ocean Realm, Smithsonian, Ranger Rick, Sportfishing, Tauchen, and Variety.
We see ourselves as separate, but we are all connected. The Alaskan fisherman, the Chicago businessman, the Iowa farmer and you and me, all share the same connection with the ocean. The ocean controls our atmosphere and regulates our climate. It gives us rain on the plains, snow in the mountains, and makes our land habitable. We can't begin to make good decisions about protecting the ocean unless we know a little about who lives there.
